Sunday -
We all went to church together in the morning and then headed over to downtown Arvada to pick up some spices that I needed for cooking later in the day. We got there just as the farmer's market was setting up for the day so we also came home with some fresh peaches, locally made sodas and yummy food for lunch. We treated Maddie to the biggest basket of ribbon curly fries we've ever seen - she did have some help eating them :) Too bad we didn't take a picture. I spent the rest of the day doing some freezer cooking. With what I cooked on Sunday and some cooking I did later in the week, we now have homemade chicken broth, butternut squash soup, spaghetti sauce, a lasagna, breakfast burritos and a loaf of strawberry bread in our freezer!
Monday -
We enjoyed some curried chicken salad and butternut squash soup for dinner. Yay for not having to cook since the cooking was done the day before and yay for such a delicious meal!
Tuesday -
I took the kids to Costco to pick up some things we needed and realized, after I had already filled our cart with all kinds of stuff, that the coupons I had weren't good for another couple of days. Bummer! So we put everything back. We did manage to come home with a super cute Halloween costume for Isaac so it wasn't a totally wasted trip!
Wednesday -
In yet another attempt to squeeze in some more regular exercise into my routine, we piled into the car and headed to the mall to do some walking. I put the kids in the double stroller and filled the cup holders on their trays with Cheerios. They got to snack and Mama got to walk :) The kids and I met Quan at Qdoba for dinner (in the pouring rain!) and then attended our Wednesday night church service. We don't go every Wednesday night but when we do, we always enjoy the message, the worship, the fellowship and of course, the childcare :)
Maddie was not happy about Isaac getting his 11 month pictures taken!
Thursday -
This is our "library story day" as Maddie likes to call it. Our local library has a 20 minute story and song time for little kids and babies every Thursday morning. Maddie has learned a "good morning" song that she loves to sing to her brother every morning. During story time, Isaac generally loves to crawl around and "explore" the other children in the room. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my library card this time so we didn't get to pick out any new books.
Friday -
This is our "Bible study day" and we recently started a new series on the "Fruits of the Spirit". I just love connecting with the women in our church - I feel so much support and receive so much encouragement each time I am there. And Maddie loves to play with all the toys in the nursery :) In the evening I drove up to Fort Collins to spend a wonderful child free evening with my best buddy. We try to meet for dinner about once or twice a month and Quan gets to have a "Daddy" evening with the kids.
Isaac getting into my purse!
Saturday -
I spent the morning at a stamping party (so much fun!) and then the rest of the afternoon volunteering at a children's consignment sale at our church. So Quan has had two days of taking care of the kids in a row! But he had fun with them and will maybe do some blogging about his adventures at some point :)
Sometimes I wonder why I feel so tired all the time but when I look at all we do in a week, I guess it really is a lot of stuff going on!
