Isaac's Special Weekend

Somehow this post, which is now several weeks old, missed getting published...

Several weeks ago (yes, I'm really behind on blogging!), Maddie spent the weekend with Quan's parents so that we could have some special one on one time with Isaac.

Enjoying his breakfast without the constant chatter of big sister

After breakfast, we headed to Toys R Us so Isaac could spend a gift card that he got for his birthday from our friend Victoria (aka Auntie Victoria) and so we could do some Christmas shopping for the kids.  It's nice that at least at this age Isaac won't remember what we put in the cart for him and Maddie!

Isaac picked out a Mater car and a Lego board book with his gift card and we picked out some Cars Duplo sets for the kids for Christmas.  Any guesses on Maddie's current obsession?  Yep, my girly girl is totally into Lightening McQueen aka "the red car" right now!

For lunch we picked up a cheeseburger Happy Meal for Isaac.  This was his very first Happy Meal that he got all to himself since usually he has to share with big sister.

The meal came with the cutest little mini fry carton ever.  Seriously, it was cute!

After lunch, we let Isaac stay up a little later and "help" us with the Christmas tree.  He thought the box was pretty hilarious!

We did run into a bit of a problem while assembling the tree however.  Can you figure out what is wrong with this picture?

For the first time ever since we have owned this tree (about 5 years) we put the tree together in the wrong order!  The top half of the tree was put on the base and "fluffed" and when we went to put the second half of the tree on top of that, we realized our mistake.  So Quan had to hold the already fluffed top half while I quickly worked on the bottom half!

After all that craziness, Isaac was peacefully napping so Quan and I took advantage of the Starbucks holiday drink sale and enjoyed some peppermint frappuccinos and took a nice break.

Before we headed out to dinner, we stopped by Michael's to pick up a new mirror for our bedroom.  Quan had some Starcraft related joke about this mirror when we bought it but I don't even remember what it was.  At least he thought it was an alright addition to our room :)  I know you think I'm crazy Mom, but doesn't it look nice?

We ended the day with a special dinner out at Carrabba's.  Isaac was pretty well behaved and he just LOVED all the food!

We love our little guy and had a blast spending the weekend with him!
