21 months old!

Maddie is 21 months old on February 27, 2011!

Our little girl is growing up so fast!  It has been so amazing to see her little personality emerge over the past 21 months!

Here's a snapshot of Maddie at 21 months:

She's our little neat freak.  She just loves things to be neat and orderly.  If a door is open, she wants it to be closed.  She complains about fuzz or dog hair that she finds on the carpet.  The other day she wiggled away from me while on the changing table so that she could stand upright a tube of diaper cream that had fallen over.  And she loves to throw things in the trash.  Although, occasionally we do find things in the trashcan that aren't really trash!

She's a nurturer.  Maddie loves to "help" take care of her little brother.  She will bring me burp cloths, diapers, socks, just about anything that she thinks Isaac needs.  If Isaac starts crying in his room, she will try to open his door to check on him.  And if I don't get to him quickly enough, she will start yelling "baby" to get my attention!  She will even bring him toys to play with and turn on the music on his playmat for him.  I think she'll make a great mommy someday :D

She's a super picky eater, at least for now.  At her 18 month checkup, Maddie's doctor said we should try to get her to put on some more weight.  But, seriously, this child will hardly eat anything!  She generally likes most fruits, a few veggies, pastas, just about any kind of soup, tacos (have to be from Taco Bell), some cheeses, Cheerios, french fries, ice cream and of course, cookies!

She's quite the little chatter box!  Her vocabulary has really exploded lately and she has begun putting two words together, like "Baby Isaac", "Hi Daddy" and "night-night moon" (one of her favorite bedtime stories :D).  The other day Quan asked Maddie if she knew what "no" meant and she responded by saying, "I know!".  She's always entertaining us with the things that she says.  She can also count to ten with some help and knows some letters of the alphabet.  We think she's quite a smart and clever little girl!

Wherever Maddie goes, Maddie's monkey (which she named Addy) goes with her.  She is quite attached to the little guy and it's so sweet how she takes care of him.  We've almost lost him a few times while out shopping and I'm always in a panic until he's found again!  She loves to kiss and snuggle him, getting a little carried away at times, and sleeps with him every night.

Overall, Maddie is a really sweet little girl!  She's well-behaved (most of the time!) and we just love seeing her grow and learn new things each day.
